As a matter of policy, I don't do any paid work in the city of Ventura and rarely does my firm do any anywhere in Ventura County.

BillBill Fultonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10833863247431014699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5724930802169463212.post-11152018483902440712010-01-15T13:49:45.193-08:002010-01-15T13:49:45.193-08:00Hi Bill,
I have watched the Ventura City Council ...Hi Bill,

I have watched the Ventura City Council over the last 11 years........I have also watched our building department officials......and have concluded that overall, you guys are not to be trusted.

I can't name a council member of the last 10 years who didn't have an innate conflict between
his/her private for profit business and his
responsibility as a council member.

In this, you are no exception.......
The city of Ventura is fast becoming a tourist trap - our down town development is obviously
designed with that in mind. Every time ground is broken - all I see is opportunity for outside investors and a community designed to cater to tourist while loosing any real community integrity, (i.e., a design of and for the people who live here - or at least including them).

I can give you numerous examples..

As a professional urban planner with offices in this community - I can't help but marvel at the
duplicity of your situation.......
In my mind you have no business on the Ventura City Council - but then, some would argue that your profession coupled with Ventura's obvious
potential for growth constitute the perfect match.

Every time I see you I ask my self......
What motivates Bill Fulton.

Matt FaustMatt Faustnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5724930802169463212.post-91989185345461141232009-12-11T12:00:43.586-08:002009-12-11T12:00:43.586-08:00Congratulations on your new post as our mayor. It was most unfortunate that we put the future of our Wright Library as a choice between saving it or voting in a regressive sales tax.

From my perspective, increasing sales taxes is unacceptable. It falls hardest on our poorest. I believe that we fellow Venturans can do better than make the poorest pay the most (as a percent of income). I hope that issue will be addressed in the coming years of your leadership.

Sincerely,

Joyce FaberAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5724930802169463212.post-84668399646232653202009-12-10T09:35:07.382-08:002009-12-10T09:35:07.382-08:00You are definitely the best man for the job, your ...You are definitely the best man for the job, your appointment is timely and Ventura is ready for effective management and efficient smart growth strategies. I feel that the library was let down by the voters, not the Library Commission or the City Council. You are a politician that listens and wants to actually help, I know, that does not seem like it is possible, but with you it is true. I know that you do indeed take what the citizens of Ventura say seriously and I for one am grateful for that and for having you lead our City.Don H.noreply@blogger.com
